A date for your diaries – Sunday 3rd May!
Following on from the excitement built by the “Grandest of Grand departs” in Yorkshire’s beautiful surrounds for the Tour De France Grande Departe, 2015 sees the inaugural Tour De Yorkshire take to many of the same roads traversed by the Tour riders last year. It will also be one of the final road races for Bradley Wiggins who will race with his newly founded “Team Wiggo”.
To celebrate this fact, Leisure Lakes bikes will be riding out from two of it’s stores on Sunday 3rd May to view the race at the famous Cragg Vale climb.
The rides will be lead by experienced members of the Chronomaster / Leisure Lakes Bikes racing team.
- 09:30 – Depart LLB Southport/Preston (57 km)
- 12:00 – Arrive at LLB Bury
- 12:30 – Depart LLB Bury (26 km)
- 13:30 – Arrive at Cragg Vale
- 14:30 – Race passes
The ride will depart from the Southport/Preston store at 09:30 (provisional), this ride will be suited to more experienced cyclists as it will be a tough 80 km + ride to the viewing point on Cragg Vale itself. The ride will cross the North West, taking in some of the Belmont climb just north of Bolton before collecting further riders at the Bury store at around the 57 km mark. The Bury store ride will depart at 12:30 (provisional) to arrive at Cragg Vale for around 13:30.
The race will then pass at around 14:30 when the ride will return to the Bury store. Anyone riding out from Southport / Preston will need to make their own return travel arrangements.
