- “When I’m not riding my bike, I…” – am drinking an overpriced beer/coffee Favourite quote – “It never gets easier, you just go faster” Greg LeMond
Started riding “properly” just 3 years ago on a vintage racer to get the few miles from the station to work, one day decided to ride all the way back, and never looked back. Still has a penchant for steel, and is often seen bombing the peak on a fixed gear, particularly the Brickworks climb.
Karl started racing at the back end of 2013, moving up to 3rd Category with a 3rd place at the gruelling Oakenclough circuit. A consistent 2014 saw Karl take results from March all the way through to September, quickly moving up to second cat and racking up points with high placings in a number of CDNW events (2nd Saighton, 2nd Cockermouth), the fantastic AvantiGas Ilkley 2 day (7th) and at season closer the Great Orme RR (6th).
Also a member of the secretive “Chorlton Mafia”, when not on the bike Karl can be found in one of Chorlton’s many coffee shops or watering holes.
