Neil has a background in mountain biking, and moved into road cycling in 2009. He joined Lancashire Road Club to find like minded individuals to cycle with on training and social rides. During this time at the club he was encouraged by his club mates to start racing in time trials and local hill climb races. There is a highly active time trial racing scene in the North West and Neil continues to participate with the 2014 season looking to be his best yet. He is completing the North Lancashire Time Trial Association points series competition which is an accumulation of points for fastest times over 18 races.

When not on his bike, Neil have a keen interest in antique clock restoration. It can be a painstaking, but rewarding process. He also enjoys skiing and his other favourite sport is rugby union. He lives in Bolton with his wife and three daughters.
